Job purpose:
The claims associate is in charge of evaluating claims in accordance with the company’s established process, policy requirements, and guidelines. A claims examiner must be able to analyze claims from the initial report to the final determination, as well as interpret and apply laws, rules, and regulations. In addition to recording claim files with notes, evaluations, and decision-making procedures, they must also be able to gather sensitive information and use it covertly and impartially.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Examines a policy's or certificate's provisions to ascertain the insurance losses that are covered.
- Examines the documents and compiles additional evidence from outside sources to establish the loss's proof.
- Fills out and records forms, reports, logs, and records to support certain claims.
- Investigates insurance claims to stop fraud.
- Gathers, evaluates and summarises data to create reports.
- Claims by approving or rejecting supporting paperwork, figuring up the benefits owed, and deciding on the compensation settlement.
- Follows firm policies, processes, and guidelines as well as local, state, and federal insurance regulations to ensure legal compliance.
- By adhering to customer service procedures and answering inquiries from customers, maintains outstanding customer service.
- Revisit and required and assembles evidence in support of a settlement action to provide legal support from the escalation standpoint.
- Maintains the privacy of claims information to safeguard operations.
- Effective communication with insurance departments.
- Driving cargo claims process, from initial notification to claim settlement, as directed by the principal.
- Guide to set process examines, studies evaluate, and decides on claims that will determine whether they are paid or not, in accordance with Marine Insurance policy and procedure.
- Maintain a record of handling correspondence and file management, including time bar registration and protection under Bills of Lading.
- Set principles in examining insurance policies, the claim form, and supporting documentation to ensure that all the information is accurate.
- Set, Manage & Creation of recurring Principal status reports on active and closed claims.
- Ensure that the claim handling procedure is set and carried out efficiently, quickly, and according to schedule.

Education requirements
3 Years Diploma or Graduate or Post Graduate

English – Fluent (required)
Background and experience:
- Minimum 10 Years of handling Marine insurance policies and procedures
- Excelled in driven cross-functional collaboration to ensure satisfaction and time - deliverance
- Taken an active role in internal as well as external meetings together with the associated parties for clarifications
- Drive process efficiency and best practice sharing
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent knowledge of the latest local, state and federal insurance-related policies.
- Good understanding of insurance claims negotiation and settlement techniques.
Competencies and skills:
- Graduate and/or proven experiences in business in handling DG cargo vessels.
- Very good communication skills verbal and in written English
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff and personnel.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, as well as bend, kneel and lift cumbersome and/or heavy objects.
- Ability to work prolonged and/or irregular hours as needed.
- Eye for details and critical thinking.
