Job purpose
We are seeking a skilled and experienced SAP HANA Data Analyst with ABAP and SQL skills to join our Data Analytics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for gathering data from SAP HANA, creating and maintaining various views (analytic views, calculation views, CDS views) on the SAP HANA database, and establishing seamless connections between these views and Power BI for the purpose of developing insightful and interactive dashboards.
Responsibilities
Data Gathering and Extraction:
- Retrieve data from SAP HANA using appropriate techniques and tools.
- Develop efficient data extraction methodologies and maintain data integrity.
View Creation and Management:
- Design, develop, and maintain analytic views, calculation views, and CDS views in SAP HANA.
- Familiarity with SAP HANA tables and their structures to align views with underlying tables.
- Collaborate with the team and business stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and create views that support analytical requirements. Optimize views for performance and scalability.
- Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the view creation process.
Power BI Integration:
- Establish the best and high-performance connections between SAP HANA views and Power BI for seamless data integration.
Documentation and Communication:
- Document data extraction processes, view designs, ABAP code, SQL Code and data transformations for future reference and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders, to understand requirements and communicate insights effectively.
Education requirements
It is necessary to have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Data Analytics or a related field.

Fluent in English
Background and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Data Analytics or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Data Analytics or a related field.
Competencies and skills
- Proven experience in gathering data from SAP HANA and creating various types of views (analytic views, calculation views, CDS views) using SQL and ABAP programming.
- In-depth understanding of SAP HANA architecture, data modeling concepts, and SQL scripting.
- Business Intelligence Skills
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and experience with ETL processes desirable but not mandatory.
