Customer Service Executive

Job purpose

As a Customer Service executive, you will coordinate with suppliers, negotiate contracts, ensure timely delivery, and maintain quality standards. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the leasing process for shipping containers, including customer relations, contract negotiation, logistics coordination, overseeing container inventory and supporting the implementation of new leasing software.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, concerns, and requests related to shipping containers.
  • Receive and process customer orders for shipping containers. Ensure accurate documentation and timely delivery according to customer specifications.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Equipment/Inventory, operations and finance, to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Receive and review purchase requisitions/Purchase orders and process purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Monitor order status and coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Identify and pursue new leasing opportunities, including both short-term and long-term contracts for clients.
  • Prepare regular reports on leasing activity, container inventory, and financial performance.
  • Communicate promptly and professionally via phone, email, and other communication channels.
  • Address customer complaints, concerns, and issues effectively and in a timely manner. Investigate problems, propose solutions, and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Stay informed about industry developments, regulations, and best practices related to container leasing.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Monitor the utilization rate of shipping containers to assess the effectiveness of leasing strategies in maximizing container usage and revenue generation.
  • Track the percentage of customer orders processed accurately to ensure timely delivery according to customer specifications.
  • Measure the time taken to process purchase orders accurately and efficiently to ensure timely procurement of containers.
  • Assess the accuracy and timeliness of reports generated on leasing activity, container inventory, and financial performance to support informed decision-making.Develop a thorough understanding of the company’s shipping container products, including specifications, pricing, availability, and customization options. Provide product information and guidance to customers as needed

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.MS Office Knowledge: Proficiency in MS Office applications.

Language Requirements

Background and experience

  • 2-3 years in a customer-facing role with a container shipping related or, preferably, container leasing.
  • understanding of contractual terms relating to container leasing and purchasing’.

Competencies and skills

  • Customer Focus: Excellent customer service skills, including effective handling of inquiries and complaints.
  • Data Accuracy: Attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactivity: Proactively monitoring and ensuring the successful execution of customer shipments.
  • Knowledge of shipping container specifications, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
